The Wildcraft Forest School has applied its unique approach to nature-based wellness and combined it with Ayurvedic practices in order to provide a clinical approach to Yasei Shinrin Yoku. Our program allows participants to become certified in delivering a Head Massage practice. Training is available through a 5-day camp at the Wildcraft Forest School and includes a series of online introductory lessons.
Ayurvedic Head Massage is an ancient therapeutic treatment that has been practiced in India for 5000+ years. It involves a variety of movements and pressure techniques that focus on the head, neck, shoulders and upper back. As a Yasei Ayurvedic Head Massage Practitioner you will also learn how to apply wildcrafted massage oils and other topical forest biotic nutraceuticals into massage treatment sessions as well as outdoor immersion wellness methods that include Wild Earthing.
As a massage practitioner in this modality, you will learn numerous aspects of massage treatment for the upper back, shoulders, neck and head that allow clients to be sitting upright in a chair. Only the upper back is exposed making it a very comfortable form of massage. This massage is ideal for Yasei Shinrin Yoku Practitioners who want to offer the service outdoors and in a forest or in a corporate or home setting as another form of wellness and meditation support.
Ayurvedic Head Massage practices have strong roots in traditional Indian culture and are used in conjunction with herbs, spices and oils which have been known to encourage the body’s natural healing abilities. Yasei Ayurvedic Head Massage focuses on releasing energy blockages in the body and decreases symptoms within a wide range of ailments. It increases circulation to the head and promotes drainage of accumulated toxins.
Head massage can also help increase blood flow to the brain and scalp increasing the supply of nutrients and oxygen. This is all received by the brain and hair follicles and can result in better focus, clarity, memory and concentration, a nourished nervous system and immune system, and more balanced hormones. For the hair follicles, this helps to reduce hair loss, drying of hair and premature graying. Yasei Ayurvedic Head Massage with a compliment of oils can help reduce stress and can trigger the release of endorphins, elevating one’s mood.
Specialized head massage can help support the head and scalp in a range of ways. However, Ayurvedic Head Massage can also help improve your health in other ways such as:
Supporting the nervous system by relieving stress
Stimulating the lymphatic system, encouraging the elimination of toxins
Breaking down problematic knots in muscles
Relieving chronic neck and shoulder stiffness
Increasing oxygen uptake to the brain, cells, and muscle tissue
